Microsoft Releases Office 365 For Android, Available For Canada In August
We’ve been expecting this for a while and it is now a reality. Microsoft has released a version of Office 365 for Android devices, but it is limited to subscribers of the cloud service and users in the US. However, according to Microsoft, the Office Mobile app will be available in Canada come August. A subscription of Office 365 costs $10/month ($99/year) and gives you five installs for your PCs and Macs.
The app works very similarly to its iOS counterpart, but for now it lacks a tablet interface to make it more suitable to use on a big screen as well as taking advantage of more screen real-estate. Users of the Office Mobile App can download Word, Powerpoint and Excel files, either storing them offline or accessing them from Skydrive. The Mobile App then gives you the power to view and edit these three file formats.
Office Mobile also gives you a list of recently-accessed documents if you have an Office 365 account on a PC or on the web, but the text and content of the document wraps itself to fit Android devices in various screen sizes.
The app is only available for Android devices sporting Android 4.0 or above, so for now, given the country and OS restrictions, not a lot of people will get the app, but will let you know as soon as the Office Mobile app from Microsoft comes to Canada. Leave your comments on the section below.
