To those of you lucky enough to have one of the – if not the best – smartphones out there at the moment, you may be looking for a way to get around the limitations inherent in your 8GB or 16GB of onboard storage. Well, back in November, Box.net teamed up with LG to provide all customers with new LG smartphones with 50gb of free online storage. It was overlooked that the Nexus 4 would qualify for this promotion, but as Android Central pointed out today, the Nexus 4 is a new LG device, and therefore very eligible for the offer from Box.

For those of you unfamiliar with how Box works, the Android app works very similarly to Google Drive or Dropbox. Once the app is installed on your device, anything can be shared to your cloud storage directly from other apps, something that us Android users really take for granted (have you tried using an iPad lately?). As for the app itself, it works very well, but only allows users to upload files with a max size of 250MB. I suppose this is to prevent users from really slowing down their networks. If you’re willing to move up to a paid account however, this can be changed to a max of 1GB.

So, if you happen to own a Nexus 4, you might as well download the app from the Play store and sign up for a free 50GB. Is there really any reason not to do it?
