Google Books now available for Canada [UPDATE: MARKET TOO]

There was a posting a few hours back about how Google was now making eBooks available in Canada.

Then it updated and said wait!

So I waited. And I left the books.google.ca site open and watched for it to removed the ‘Not available in your country” bar to disappear.

While doing so I noticed that my tablet notified me that the app was available for an update. So I updated the app. My phone didn’t have that, as I had to sideload it onto my phone [as the market previously wouldn’t let you do that]. With that thought in mind I went to check out the market and lo’ and behold, the app is now downloadable.

Went back to books.google.ca and now you can peruse to your heart’s content. Which is good, because a few weeks back I had posted about this, then it turned me into a liar!

Now, just to wait for the Market app to update to allow for book purchases… I imagine that isn’t too far behind [as they just started to put the header in the market on the web now].

UPDATE: the market just updated itself to reflect the change.
