Nexus 7 Questions Answered: Email Groups, NFC, PDFs and Flash

First impressions

The reviewer liked the form factor. A smaller tablet owned before, the Nook Color, felt heavy, while the Nexus 7 was comfortable in weight and size. For casual browsing on the couch, it beat a 10.1-inch Transformer, which felt too large. Games including ShadowGun and Dead Trigger ran without slowdown.

The questions

Group email

There was no native way to send group emails, so each address had to be entered separately. An app called Contacts GroupU adds the feature, although you open its app rather than Gmail, and it was not compatible with tablets.

Build issues

The reviewer noticed no problems with their unit.

NFC

Android Beam worked for sharing sites and apps. Larger files appeared to need extra apps, and Beam still seemed to have room to grow.

Annotation

ezPDF annotated PDFs without trouble, and the Tegra 3 chip kept it smooth. Handwriting apps worked but lagged slightly. For handwriting and drawing, the Galaxy Note with its S Pen remained the best the reviewer had used.

Flash

Adobe had by then removed Flash from the market, but the reviewer said you could sideload it by finding the APK and installing it, then using another browser such as Firefox or Dolphin.
