Price and availability

The $399.99 price was steep for a watch, but the author argued that a 3G-capable device makes it a little easier to accept. Samsung branded stores had the watch first. Additional retailers, and even carriers, were expected to follow later in the month. That price is historical and no longer reflects any current sale.

The big question

The author was not sure a standalone smartwatch is necessary, but expected some people to try replacing a phone with one. The post asked readers whether they would give up their phone for a watch.
