The square resolution did not match the rectangular screen seen in earlier renders, which had come from a Samsung patent application.
Software and apps
The watch was said to be already with developers, running Android 4.1 or 4.2. It would presumably use apps from Samsung’s own app store, not Google Play. Popular social apps such as Twitter and Facebook were expected, along with health apps aimed at rivalling sport watches.
What was still unknown
Battery life, pricing and the final design had not leaked. Release was rumoured for about a month after the unveiling. No text input was expected, possibly because of the small screen.
