Telus Smartphone Plans for Android at the HTC Hero Launch
This page preserves a snapshot of a December plan listing. Do not use it for current pricing.
What changed that month
- Telus launched its HSPA+ network.
- Telus released the HTC Hero.
The plans applied to new customers and to existing customers changing their price plan. They could change without notice.
British Columbia and Alberta plans

All four had unlimited evenings and weekends starting at 9 p.m. Adding $7 moved the start of free evenings to 6 p.m. Buyers could also pick one free promotion: unlimited text messages (with unlimited received), double daytime minutes, or My5 Nationwide.
Package 15
For voicemail and extras, any plan could add Package 15, which included Caller Display and unlimited sent and received text messages. Because the plans already included data, more data could not be added.

The listing shows how to compare plans: minutes, bonus minutes, data, when free evenings start, bundled messaging and what fees and taxes add to the headline price.
Frequently asked questions
Are these plans still available?
No. They are a snapshot from the period when the HTC Hero launched.
Why did totals differ by region?
Fees and taxes differ by province, so the same plan produced different monthly totals.
What was My5?
A promotion that gave nationwide calling to five chosen numbers.
