Mobilicity’s chief executive told the press that the Nexus S was going to everyone and that the phone would be available in March. The comments confirmed earlier word that the phone would reach Canada. The executive also stressed that no carrier would get a special version: the phone would be widely available.
Why the AWS band mattered
Mobilicity was one of the newer Canadian carriers and its network used the AWS band. Saying the phone would support AWS signalled that it could work there, which was important for customers of the newer carriers.
