The ASUS ZenFone 2 was announced during CES earlier this year and since its release in May, it has been the popular choice for a budget midrange/highend hybrid. However, the company has now released an updated ZenFone 2 with a new feature: Laser Autofocus.

This new model comes with a laser module which will allow the camera focus on objects very quickly compared to models released earlier. Aside from that, the phone remains the same externally (same 5.5-inch 1080p display), but the internals are a different story.

The Intel Atom Z3580 SoC is now replaced by a 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 615 SoC and it comes with 3GB of RAM. The phone will also not come with a 64GB option, as it only offers 16GB and 32GB variants, alongside microSD expansion and a 3000 non-removable battery.

According to MobileSyrup, the phone will be available to purchase at Staples, Canada Computers, NCIX and Memory Express starting at $269 later this month.
