Samsung Fails in Attempts to Block Exploding Note 7 Bomb Hack in GTA 5
After killing off its problematic Note7 phablet and apologizing to customers publicly, Samsung is now trying to cling to the shred of dignity it has left.
The Korean tech giant isn’t particularly fond of the whole online parody movement involved in ridiculing its overheating Note7. And according to a report from Kotaku, Samsung has been attempting to block an YouTube video that shows the Note7 being used as a fiery weapon in a modified version of Grand Theft Auto.
More specifically the video displays a modification of GTA V turning the infamous phablet into an explosive bomb weapon. Oops!
The video obviously rubbed Samsung the wrong way, so the Korean tech giant filed a copyright infringement claim on the YouTube video. Interestingly the clip got taken down for a while, despite the claims being totally bogus.
But the video creator, known as sdaddy345 filed a counter-claim against Samsung explaining that the video is an essential part of his emergent YouTube channel.
Unexpectedly YouTube considered the reason to be good enough to allow the video to go back up. You can see for yourself the video is currently available to watch. Bigger explosions have been included for your viewing pleasure.
Samsung might not give up so easily, but given that all is out in the open now, we don’t the tech giant having big chances of success. Just let it be, Samsung, let it be!
