Samsung Confirms Galaxy S IV Event

Well, it’s finally official.  After months and months of speculation, a firm date of March 14th seems to be the day Samsung will finally unveil its next iteration of the Galaxy S line. The various blogs on the Internet had seemed pretty certain the phone would be released in the middle of March, so this doesn’t come as much of a surprise.

Earlier today, highly respected Editor in Chief of Mobile Review, Eldar Murtazin tweeted out the date of the Samsung event:

Not to be outdone, Verge corroborated the date through its many sources going as far as insisting that the Samsung Galaxy S IV would definitely be shown off on March 14th thanks to confirmations from Murtazin, Sam Mobile, as well as many close-to-Samsung representatives it has relied on for information in the past.

The Verge has now confirmed with sources familiar with Samsung’s plans that March 14th is “definitely” the day that the Korean giant plans on revealing one or more new devices, one of which is presumed to be the Galaxy S IV.

In the quote above, by writing, “one or more devices,” Verge is raising speculation that March 14th will also be the day we officially see the Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet for the first time. The tech blog goes on to say that the actual tablet looks nothing like we have previously seen in leaks, causing some to wonder if the images of the tablet being passed around the Internet are actually fakes. This would indeed make sense as everything we have seen so far of the device really resembles the Galaxy S III, a strange design choice if it indeed turns out to be real.

In any case, with this news, we can all be rest-assured that both the Galaxy S IV and the Galaxy Note 8.0 are coming soon.  As always, we’ll keep you informed of the latest news here at Android in Canada.
