Living in a big market like I do, I tend to move on from network expansions relatively quickly as I am always in one of the first markets to get whatever new technology is being launched. This was definitely true for LTE, once it launched in my area I quickly moved on to other things. Today I learned a lesson in big city naivety when Rogers announced that they will be bringing LTE speed to 44 new markets in Canada this spring.

Rogers first went live with LTE on July 7th, 2024 in major markets and has slowly been growing, this however marks a major expansion by the company. The locations that will be receiving LTE speeds are Saint John, New Brunswick; Medicine Hat, Alberta; Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario; Guelph, Ontario; Muskoka, Ontario and Collingwood, Ontario as well as several locations in Quebec. Rogers states that other places that will be part of the expansion will be announced over the next couple months.

In a post on their website Rogers also noted that they are looking to grow their selection of devices that work on the 2600Mhz spectrum allowing speeds up to 150Mbps. The 2600Mhz spectrum will be available in 34 of the 44 new markets as well. This is certainly a big development and we will be bringing you the details on all of the devices and new markets as they come in. See all of the details right from Rogers here.

Are any of you part of this new expansion? Anyone still left in the proverbial LTE dark?
