We’re still quite a while away until the expected launch of Google’s upcoming Nexus smartphone lineup, but previous rumours have suggested HTC will be one of the OEMs making the Nexus for this year.
According to a Taiwanese site Focus Taiwan, HTC has reportedly received two orders from Google for the two upcoming Nexus phones with codenames Marlin and Sailfish. They are said to be based on the HTC 10 and will feature not the Snapdragon 820, but the Snapdragon 821.
The exact differences between the 820 and 821 aren’t known but expect to see marginal improvements in terms of IPC and clockspeed in general.
Due to the fact that we are so early in the product rumour cycle, and no specific sources were named, it’s recommend you take this information with a decently sized grain of salt.
