Good news for owners of the Pixel and Pixel XL, who are also subscribers of Rogers. According to the carrier, the two Google flagships are bound to get VoLTE (or Voice over long-term evolution) on April 3.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with VoLTE, it allows users to enjoy voice calls with improved sound quality and faster connection time over the LTE network, instead of legacy HSPA. On top of that, users who are in call will be able to continue using LTE data.
So far, VoLTE at Rogers supports the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge+, Note5, LG G4 and LG G4 Vigour and now two more Android devices have been added to the list. It’s not just any devices – Google’s Pixel devices have become extremely popular with the Android crowd, so Rogers’ move will probably be highly welcomed by the community.
While this is good news for Google Pixel owners, Rogers have something in stored for owners of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. According to a recent update, the Android 7.0 Nougat build is expected to arrive on the two handsets on March 20. At last!
