The OnePlus One is getting delayed yet again, due to a mixture of production issues and overwhelming demand, but that won’t stop them from updating to the latest Android release in the fall.
The Android L Preview Release brings significant improvements to the platform, which may or may not conflict with the current build of CyanogenMod 11S (based off of Android 4.4.2) on the phone.
CyanogenMod themselves have stated they will not incorporate any L features until the stable release so it’s uplifting to see that they are promising an ETA, similar to HTC’s announcement last week.
Well, we’re keen to announce today that the OnePlus One will indeed be getting the L treatment. When, you ask? That depends on Google. We promise to have it done within three months of their releasing a final build.
Now if only they could start shipping the phones to the general public…
