Since we found out about the Nexus 5, we’ve seen lots and lots of leaks regarding the upcoming Google Nexus device. However, the leaks didn’t say anything about the camera, and given Google’s poor track record with camera quality it is quite an important matter. Well, today we get information that the camera on the upcoming Nexus 5 will feature optical image stabilization (OIS), similar to what is found on the LG G2, which makes sense since the Nexus will probably be based on LG’s flagship. Additionally, Google’s upcoming smartphone will also feature OTG support and  have updated stock apps. The list of updated apps and version number (previous and after the update) is found below:

  • Google Sound Search: 1.1.8 – 1.1.11
  • Email: 4.1 – 6.0
  • Clock: 2,0.3 – 3.0
  • Currents: 2.1.1 – 2.1.2
  • Cloud Print: 0.6.1b – 0.8.3
  • Google Authenticator: 2.49 – 3.55
  • Play Books: 2.9.21 – 3.0.1
  • Gallery: 1.1.40012 – 1.1.40030
  • Hangouts: 1.2.018 – 1.3.012
  • QuickOffice: 6.1.180 – 6.2.255
  • Play Store: 4.3.11 – 4.4.2
  • Gmail: 4.6 – 4.6.1

As you can see you can expect the camera on the Nexus 5 to be a big improvement over previous Nexus. Also, apps like Email, Clock and Google Authenticator show big bumps in version number. The Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 Kit Kat are rumoured to be unveiled this month, so we’ll find out all the details soon enough.
