Locate And Secure Your Lost Smartphone With Android Device Manager

blogpost

If you’re like me then you’ve lost your phone more than a few times even it is just hidden between sofa cushions or fallen behind furniture. If you’re acquainted with this situation you also know the work it sometimes takes to find your misplaced phone, not to mention if something worse like a robbery or leaving it at a public place has happened.

Well, for the forgetful type, the Android team is working on an Android Device Manager that should help out. It packs some important features that will keep both your device and the all-important data it contains safe and secure.

One of the crucial features of the Android Device Manager is a location service that will make it possible to find your phone anywhere in the world and track it down in real-time. However, imagine you just don’t know where it is around the house or you’re close to it, but just can’t seem to find it, then the Device Manager allows you to make your phone ring at maximum volume even if it was set in silent mode.

The other feature is perfect for when you can’t get your phone back and don’t want to risk your data ending up in the wrong hands. So if you won’t be recovering your phone, the Android Device Manager allows you to quickly and safely wipe all the data on your device. These features may sound familiar to Apple’s Find my iPhone service.

The Android Device Manager will be available later this month for all devices running Android 2.2 or above. You’ll need to sign into our Google Account to use the service and an Android app will also be available to make it easier to find and manage all your devices. If this is something you were waiting for don’t forget to leave your comments on the section below.
