I Lost My Baby! How do you locate a lost Wi-Fi Tablet?

I was using Grocery IQ on my Motorola Xoom the other day and as I packed the groceries in the car, my wife walked away with the cart (with my tablet lying in the baby seat of the shopping cart).

Luckily, an honest shopping cart guy at the store found it and turned it into the customer service desk.

That got me thinking that maybe I need one of those GPS tracking apps for my tablet. A quick searched turned up a few apps.

My first inclination is always to look at the free apps (I’m cheap), but looking at reviews I decided that SeekDroid ($0.99) seemed like the best bet.

Then I realized that a lack of a data connection on my Xoom (Wi-Fi only version) wasn’t going to cut it.

I’ve now turned to the low tech version and slipped my business card into the back of my Motorola Xoom case. (My contact info shows up nicely in the little window for the camera and speaker at the back.)

Of course, this still relies on an honest person finding it.

From all my research it still appears that SeekDroid is a good choice for phones or tablets with a data connection. So, I’ll probably install it on my Nexus One. (Though being cheap, I haven’t done it yet. Of course that’s also illogical because $0.99 is nothing compared to the cost of actually losing my phone.)

Anyone have any suggestions for tracking down a lost Wi-Fi tablet?

What apps do you have on your phone/tablet and have been successful with in locating a lost device?
