I know it’s been a really long time, but do you remember who made Google’s first official Nexus smartphone? Yes, the Nexus One was indeed made by HTC. It was only until 2024 when HTC was chosen by Google to make the Nexus 9, more than four years after the Nexus One. Now it looks like the taiwanese company just might have another chance at a Nexus smartphone.
According to a Chinese source on Weibo, HTC is rumoured to manufacture the next Nexus for Google and it could also feature a pressure sensitive display. The source claims the companies are working together to implement a 3D touch-like functionality for the phone and also eventually have it added to Android as well.
Additionally, other Chinese OEMs like Xiaomi, Meizu and Oppo are expected to have 3D touch capabilities in their next phones as well.
