Google Rolls Out Android O Developer Preview 3
Owners of the Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P or Nexus Player listen up. Google has just started rolling out the Android O Developer Preview 3 for your devices.
The new build comes three weeks after Google introduced the Android O Developer Preview 2. As a reminder, you’ll need to be enrolled in the Android Beta Program in order to receive the over-the-air (OTA) update.
The search giant says the third developer preview comes packing hundreds of bug fixes and optimizations, as well as the final API level 26.
If you don’t want to wait for the OTA, the update is also available for download and flashing.
Android O is the next version of Android which will be unleashed in a few months. According to a recent report, it seems like this year Pixel phones will be getting the official Android O update earlier than expected. Sources have revealed Google phone users can expect to receive the OTA as soon as late August.
Google will release another Developer Preview before rolling out the official build. At its I/O developer conference, the Mountain View-based company revealed some of the features Android O will come equipped with, including Picture-in-Picture, Notifications Dots and an Autofill feature similar to what Chrome offers. The next Android version will also focus on bring security enhancements, which are vital in the era we live in.
