If there was one major thing Android Wear was missing, it was support for 3G or LTE. Luckily, Google has just announced support for cellular in Android Wear and it will help you stay connected even if a phone the watch is paired with, is not with you.
This will also allow you to send and receive message, take and even make calls on the watch without pairing it to a phone via WiFi or Bluetooth.
It’s a very interesting concept and despite its potential toll on a watch’s battery life, I’d say it’s worth it for the convenience.
Right now, the only watch that supports this is the LG G Watch Urbane 2nd Edition. It comes with LTE support, a 480×480 circular display and a 570 mAh battery. Howeveer unfortunately it’s a US only exclusive at this time.
