Samsung Galaxy S8 Pre-Orders Aren’t Ready at Rogers Due to System Error

Samsung Galaxy S8’s official global launch date is set for April 21, but several carriers in Canada have promised that customers who have placed a pre-order for the new flagship will be able to pick up their device as soon as April 17.

Despite previous information, it looks like Canada’s largest carrier, Rogers won’t be able to meet the deadline. According to a report coming out of Mobile Syrup, it seems like the carrier is facing an internal problem which has prevented it from keeping its promise. An internal document revealed the following:

The Samsung Galaxy devices S8 and S8 + are not added to the system for sales. Last week, the Samsung Galaxy devices S8 and S8 + for customers who pre-ordered or reserved began to be shipped in store. As we have previously announced, customers were able to recover their pre-ordered or reserved unit as of April 17th. However, due to a system problem, the devices do not appear in the system for sales.

Rogers goes on to say that it is working to fully resolve the problem as soon as possible and will update customers on the developments.

At the time of writing this article, there’s currently no word about Rogers notifying customers their Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ units are available for pick-up. Will Rogers subscribers have to wait until April 21?
