Daydream Update Now Rolling Out for the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ owners who have been waiting for their phones to get Daydream support can now rejoice.

The official Google VR account made the announcement on Google+ revealing the Daydream-ready update is now rolling out for the two handsets.

The new build is probably going to hit units in the United States first, so users in Canada might have some time to wait before their Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ get Daydream treatment.

In the US, carriers like T-Mobile and Verizon have already rolled out Daydream updates for the two phones, but not all users were able to use this feature. Now Google officially announced the update is rolling out for the two devices.

Note that you might have to clear Google VR Services data and then re-open the Daydream app to be able to use Daydream with your Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.

Google demands a very rigorous set of high-end specs for a phone to work with Daydream and that’s why there aren’t many phones that support the headset. Devices like the ZTE Axon 7, ASUS Zenfone AR and Huawei Mate 9 Pro do so and now the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ finally do too.
