Best Free Games for Android.
Cruising around the Android Market, I start seeing a lot of my favourite games that I use to play on my iPhone. Figured I would take a the time to shine a little light on these games, as some of them seem to be rather new to the market.
The ‘Best’ game is really determined by the user, as we all have different tastes in our games and how we play them. Feel free to post your own top games down below in the comments, or make corrections to my list as you feel necessary.
Tap Tap Revenge 4: Number one on my list for many reasons. I spent countless hours on this game back in my iPhone days, now that it’s available for Android is just awesome. Very well integrated with all the features of the iPhone and better yet, I was even able to transfer my old profile from my iPhone to my Nexus S. This game has full online support to play with your friends, with Free and paid additional tracks for download. A great game and much more fun if you have a friend to challenge.
Angry Birds, Rio, Seasons: I think every mobile gamer has heard of Angry Birds by now, as it’s a huge hit and highlighted many times on blogs, TV, Apple’s WWDC, and even going as far as seeing a two foot tall stuff animal at toy stores. This game is very simple that anyone at any age can just pickup and go. All three versions of Angry Birds combine give the user countless levels of fun and entertainment, perhaps even a slight amount of frustration on some difficult levels. Best of all these are FREE, unlike the 99Cent price tag on Apple Devices. The only draw back for these free versions is users must endure a advertisement banner at the top right corner, but thankfully it’s out of the way most of the time.
Stardunk: Stardunk is a great game if you have just a couple minutes to kill. You are able to open up game and just jump in to the action within seconds. Each round lasts about two minutes, where the player attempts to throw balls in to the basketball like net. With the different types of balls and power ups it really keeps the game fresh. With online support you are able to store your best scores online and even challenge your friends through Facebook.
Gun Bros: A Game that delivers a lot of value for FREE. Gun Bros is a top down view shooter game, where you fight wave after wave of enemies for experience points and explodium which you turn in to money. The money you earn can be used to buy extra power ups, and upgraded guns and armor. You fight along side a computer controlled player, your partner uses the equipment of your friend that you will select through Facebook. So as your friend upgrades his/her equipment, your computer controlled player will as well. Sadly the Android version doesn’t support online play yet, so your partner will be stuck with basic equipment until they update it to work online like the iPhone version. (game indicates that online is coming soon)
Slice it!: The player is presented with a shape or object on which they will attempt to ‘slice it’ in to equal portions, or as the current level specifies. For a free game it is strangely addictive and offers a fair amount of learning experience for a younger audience. This game would be ideal for personal use, but also a lot of fun having a son/daughter to have that one on one experience as you learn together. Just don’t tell them they are learning lol.
That is my top five favourite FREE games at the moment. Feel there is something missing? Post it and share some more great titles.
