Android TV Confirmed By Riptide GP2 Developer

With Google I/O less than 12 hours away, one would think Google had it in the bag when it came to leaks about potential announcements at the event. Well it turns out that a reputable developer has accidentally confirmed the existence of a new product just hours from the event.

Riptide GP2 is a very popular Android game and it’s known for its superb graphics and gameplay experience alongside 3rd party game controller support. However Vector Unit, the developer behind the game, accidentally posted an app changelog on the Play Store earlier today with features like support for the Android TV and split screen mode.

Specs for the Android TV aren’t listed anywhere but deducing from the AOSP commits, the product may ship with an NVIDIA SoC.

Hopefully there are more apps that support this unreleased but exciting platform, and I’m sure apps that support this, as well as features are going to be listed tomorrow during I/O.
