Android ruling the mobile browsing (Globally, but locally it’s gaining ground)

Okay last week I talked about some of the marketshare of the Android phones in Canada.  Well, today’s bit of statistics comes from a couple sources, and it’s showing (primarily US data of course) that Android really is not just winning in the mobile browsing share, but dominating it.

JumpTap shows the market share for January

And then StatCounter shows off the stats for the past year:

This shows that Android is the top rated device as it just snuck past Opera and just inching over iPhone.

Now, however, in our own backyard we’re 4th

Eeking out just 10.4% of the share vs. iPhone @ 40%.  Now that’s a huge difference!  I have never even heard of this UC Browser which if you look at the graph over time showing that it just popped out ahead of Android.
