Android Distribution Numbers Out For November, KitKat Jumps To 30%
It’s now November and Google has finally updated their Android Distribution numbers accordingly. I find it very strange that Google decided to skip October’s distribution numbers entirely. Anyway, for those unfamiliar, these numbers are updated at roughly the start of every month for developers to look at so they can generalize what version of Android their potential install base is running and act upon it.
As of November 3rd, Android 4.4 KitKat finally broke the 30% barrier and now sits at 30.2%, up 5.7% from September. Jelly Bean as a whole still remains as the most dominent, dropped by 2.9%. Gingerbread and surprisingly Froyo are still hanging around and are at 9.8% and 0.6% respectively.
Android 5.0 Lollipop is guaranteed to be released this month so this could probably be as high as KitKat could get.
