Amazon Working On Its Own Chat App for Mobile and Desktop
Bored with your regular chat app? If that’s the case, then you’ll be glad to know that according to a new report Amazon is working on a messaging service of its own.
The retail giant has started polling customers about a new messaging client dubbed Anytime, asking them to share the features they deem most important in a chat client.
Based on the feedback, it seems like Amazon is planning to include a very rich palette of features into its new service. Apart from text, users should expect Anytime to bring features such as voice calling, social-media like sharing of photos, GIFs, stickers and emojis sharing, as well as the ability to host group conversations or chat with businesses. Snapchat-like filters should also be included in the bundle, as well.
When and if it arrives, the service will keep private info secure by encrypting important massages like bank account details. We’re also told the upcoming chat client will seamlessly work across mobile (Android and iOS) and desktop.
It’s unclear when Amazon plans to launch the service, but given the extensive details that leaked online, we’d have to guess it’s going to be soon enough.
What do you think? Would you shun Whatsapp in favor of Amazon’s upcoming chat app?
