NVIDIA Tegra Note Officially Unveiled
We’ve already seen and heard of it, but until today everything we knew was based on rumours. Today, that changes as NVIDIA has officially unveiled the Tegra Note tablet. However, they aren’t calling it just a tablet. Instead, they call it a complete tablet platform, which means they design it for partners.
The concept was already used with Tegra 3, but as a reference design. Here, however, NVIDIA designs everything about the device, and even provides the software updates directly, while the partners will probably just brand the tablet differently.
The Tegra Note tablet platform has an amazing suggested retail price of $199. For that value you get a 7-inch 1280×800 IPS LCD display, powered by a Tegra 4 CPU, 16GB of internal storage plus a microSD slot, 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera, front-acing HD stereo speakers and a micro HDMI port. The device also features a stylus with different tips for different purposes, and should pump out 10 hours of HD video playback.
Though NVIDIA states the device should become available in the next few months, the actual release depends on the partners chosen for each region. We’ll let you know as soon as we have more details regarding availability, release date and pricing. Let us know what you think of this tablet on the comments below and check NVIDIA’s complete blog post while you’re at it.
