Amazon.ca Opens Up Pre-Orders For The Kindle Fire HDX And HDX 8.9
Remember those new Kindle Fire tablets we posted about a little while back? You know, the super high res tablets running those sweet Snapdragon 800 processors? Well you can now pre-order them in Canada! Just in case you forgot, here are the specs:
Kindle Fire HDX
- 7″ 1920×1200 Resolution IPS Display
- Quad-Core Snapdragon 800 Processor
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB-64GB Internal Storage
- HD Front Facing Camera
- Dual-Band Wifi
- 11-17 Hours Battery Life
Kindle Fire HDX 8.9
- 8.9″ 2560×1600 Resolution IPS Display
- Quad-Core Snapdragon 800 Processor
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB-64GB Internal Storage
- HD Front Facing Camera
- 8MP Camera
- Dual-Band Wifi
- 12-18 Hours Battery Life
As expected, we do have to pay a tad more for these devices here in Canada. For the 7″ model prices are up $25 compared to the US price which means that the 16GB costs $254, 32GB costs $294, and the 64GB costs $334. The larger 8.9″ model ups the price by $20 so the 16GB will cost $399, the 32GB will cost $449, and the 64GB will cost $499. Prices definitely get pretty high once you start looking at the top models but these tablets do pack some serious punch. Unfortunately, no 4G/LTE models are available at this time and I’m not sure they ever will be.
If you’re not looking to spend quite as much on a tablet, the Kindle Fire HD will start at $149 for an 8GB model while a 16GB will set you back $179. This device isn’t nearly the beast the HDX tablets are but its still a solid all around device and it’s quite a bit more affordable.
In terms of availability, the Kindle Fire HD will be available later this month, October 24. The HDX devices are a little over a month away as they are expected to be released on November 26.
So anybody interested?
