Sony Makes The Xperia Z1 Compact Official
The Sony Xperia Z1 Mini is finally official and it will henceforth be known as the Xperia Z 1 Compact. In terms of the specs, there’s nothing really surprising here as this device has been leaked time and time again and has even launched in Japan under a slightly different name but just in case you forgot what this device brings to the table, here’s the specs:
- 4.3″ 720p Triluminous Display
- 2.2 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 800 Processor
- Adreno 330 GPU
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB Internal Storage
- microSD Card Slot
- 20.7 MP Camera
- 2MP Camear
- 2300 mAh Battery
- IP58 Certified (Dustproof and Water Resistant up to 1 Meter and 30 Minutes)
- Android 4.2
Sony is marketing the device as “the world’s best premium compact smartphone” and who can really argue. This Mini puts all the other Mini devices on the market to shame as it doesn’t skimp on any of the essentials but offers the same incredible specs as its bigger brother.
While the announcement of the device is definitely exciting, Sony hasn’t unveiled any plans for Canada unfortunately. I’ll keep an eye on things and reach out to Sony about it. Hopefully we don’t get the short end of the stick as this is a killer device that needs to make its way to our wonderful country!
