Sony Could Be Bringing Some Real Game Changers To Market

Sony Xperia

As I’ve said before, Sony really looks to be stepping up their game when it comes to the mobile tech industry.  Their latest “Z” series, which consists of the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL and Xperia Tablet Z, are all great looking and performing devices (at least that’s the consensus around the web).  Well it looks like Sony isn’t content with being a player again but want to knock the socks off of the tech world with their upcoming devices.

First we have the Sony Xperia Togari which is to be Sony’s first go at the phablet.  This device has surfaced before so I’m pretty convinced that it will eventually come to market.  It will feature a massive 6.44″ Full HD Display, some sort of stylus, and will follow the design of the Xperia Z, meaning glass front and back.  A member of forum Baidu claims he is currently testing the device and says that the phone is clothed in white but just like the Xperia Z, other colour options are likely to come.  In terms of a release date, this phone is expected to debut in some time in July, which really isn’t that far off.

The second device is the one that could really shake up the pecking order of the smart phone industry.  The second device is currently named Honami and is said to bring the best of all the different Sony divisions.  What does that mean?  You begin with Sony’s great camera tech and throw in an incredible 20MP Cyber-Shot Camera with a Carl Zeiss Lens and Xenon Flash.  Then you throw in a separate Walkman Audio Chip, possibly the S-Master MX Digital Amplifier to keep things sounding amazing.  Then you give it a 5″ 1080p display (likely with the Bravia Engine), 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 Processor (that’s right, the 800!), 2GB RAM and 2700-3000 mAh battery and you’ve got a phone that trumps all phones.  The only thing I could possibly say is a little disappointing is the 2GB of RAM but that’s just cause I’m getting greedy.  In terms of the release date for this guy, the first one could come to China’s Unicom as early as  July with an international release in August/September.

Now these are unconfirmed reports so take them as such but I’m getting really excited for Sony again.  They were the top dogs back in the feature phone days and it looks like they’re making their comeback.  May have to finally ditch my allegiance to Samsung…
