Samsung Goes After Apple Again In Australian Ad Campaign
This past week Australian Police warned its residents not to use Apple maps. Apparently the Apple maps system had led at least 6 different drivers stranded in Murray-Sunset National Park. Doesn’t sound too bad except that according to officers, the area they were getting stranded in has no fresh water source, no cell reception, and can reach temperatures of up to 115 degrees Fahrenheit.
Apple has supposedly since fixed the issue to correct the life-threatening problem, however that hasn’t stopped Samsung from using the debacle to their advantage. Samsung Australia has set up a couple of little ads in Melbourne and Sydney to let customers know they should have gone Samsung. In these set ups they have a vehicle apparently ready to travel with a sign next to it saying ”Oops, should have got a Samsung Galaxy S III. Get Navigation you can trust.”
This kind of in your face ad campaigning is nothing new from Samsung. Rather it’s simply the latest in the Samsung vs. Apple war that has been going on across the globe for the last couple of years. Do you guys like these “stick it to Apple” ads that Samsung is producing or is it too much?
