Rogers now has the Motorola Defy Pro

Available today from Rogers is the new Motorola Defy Pro

The new MOTOROLA DEFY™ PRO is now available at Rogers Communications. Impossibly strong and undeniably cool, the Android™-powered DEFY PRO is IP67 certified for resistance against scratches, spills and dust. You can trust that DEFY PRO will deliver, no matter what life throws your way.

With a simple and elegant look, this baby proves that being tough doesn’t mean sacrificing beauty. Featuring a full QWERTY keyboard, DEFY PRO is designed to withstand the daily bumps and bruises of an active lifestyle, but continues to deliver when the action stops.

Best of all, you won’t have to worry about your battery life. With a high capacity battery and Motorola’s Battery Manager, you can manage your phone’s power consumption and play longer whether you’re using your phone for email or accessing apps and entertainment from the more than 600,000 available on Google PlayTM.

Coming exclusively to Rogers Communications, MOTOROLA DEFY PRO is available for as little as $0.01 on a 2-year contract or $274.99 outright. For more information, visit Motorola.ca.

Another feature phone available free.  I see this device aimed squarely at the BlackBerry market!  A good play as I see more and more business folk with their BlackBerries now start to wonder about getting some ‘smarter’ phones, especially as many are starting to near the end of their previous contract and are looking to upgrade.  It’s a tenuous time for RIM and folk are wary about signing on with them again with an uncertain future.

Here’s the not quite so might specs (available for comparison on our database):

Not impressive when compared to some of the mightier devices out there, but it’s free, and that price tag carries a lot more weight than you may think.

Hopefully soon I’ll have a demo unit to try out and let you know how it stacks up.
