Nexus Prime out of the closet… or just peeking?
So Eric let the cat out of the bag about an ICE CREAM SANDWICH early drop. Hmm…
And over the past while there’s been a great deal of speculation over the whole NEXUS flagship. Google picks one phone and then uses it to launch their new OS. Since they recently bought Motorola Mobility questions arose about who would be the next phone manufacturer.
First we had HTC with the Nexus One; then there was Samsung with the Nexus S.
Who’s next? Will they take turns? Will they prefer their new bed buddy, Motorola?
Well if the hints we’ve been getting like a bad Easter are any clue, the signs are pointing to Samsung.
- An email asking for a cease and desist for use of a ROM for a certain NEXUS PRIME from Samsung
- A support page for a specific model appears on Samsung’s website
- Another clue in Samsung’s website code lists some information about a Nexus Prime
So is that enough cookie crumbs to put something together?
My wonder is that since Samsung’s just killing it lately in the phone market it might only be natural that they get the next flagship from Google. Despite the rumors that they might leave Android, or buy webOS, etc… [which are all unfounded, and just blogosphere fodder].
But is there something to them getting to Nexuses (Nexii?). This early in the game it’s too hard to tell, but maybe with all the patent litigation floating around it’s hard to get a real read on the friendliness out there.
