Nexus 4 Price Drops By $100 On Google Play Store
When Google launched the Nexus 4 a year ago at an unlocked price of $299 for the 8GB version and $349 for the 16GB version, everyone was amazed at the price considering what the device offered. Almost a year after the launch, Google has just dropped the price on the Nexus 4 by $100 to $199 and $249 for the 8GB and 16GB versions, respectively. The deal is up only through Google Play, in Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Spain, Korea, US and UK.
Considering you pay 199$ on contract for other top tier phones, this price drop just seems too good to be true. However, it is not only true, but available right now, so if you were thinking of buying a Nexus 4, but still found it expensive (though I doubt it) now is the time.
Google may have dropped the price because the device is almost a year old now, but given the device was already quite the bargain such a price drop could only mean one of two things: Google has gone mad or it is clearing the way for the launch of the Nexus 5 which would fit on the Nexus 4 original price range.
Customers who purchased a Nexus 4 in the last 15 days are covered by the Google Play “price protection” so you’ll be refunded the difference. Just head over to the Google Play Support to file a claim or head over to the Google Play if you plan on purchasing the device.
