New Report Says Samsung Galaxy Alpha To Be Released August 13 – Benchmark Also Surfaces
Just yesterday SamMobile reported that the much talked about and much leaked Samsung Galaxy Alpha would debut on August 4. Now another Samsung centric website in Germany, AllAboutSamsung, is reporting that that date is incorrect and that the actual announcement would take place on August 13.
In addition to the updated release date, the German website also confirmed previously rumoured specs via a benchmark that they’ve showed off. According to AllAboutSamsung, the device will sport a 720p display (likely 4.8″), an Exynos 5433 Octo-Core processor and Mali-T628 GPU, 2GB RAM, 32GB no expandable storage, 12MP camera and 2MP front facing camera.
While the specs aren’t necessarily bleeding edge the device performs quite well, even surpassing the very capable Galaxy Note 3 in the benchmark. The lower resolution undoubtedly play a role in the solid benchmark score but all in all it should be a very capable device.
Given that we’re nearly into August, we won’t have long to wait before we really know what this device is all about. While I’m not likely to pick it up (too small for my taste) I’m interested to see what kind of reaction and critique this device gets.
