The Moto G Is Official!
You may recall back when the Moto X was announced that Motorola was working hard at creating a low cost version of the phone. Since then we’ve been hearing bits and pieces of what the device could be and have even seen some specs leak these past couple of weeks. Well earlier today Motorola held their press event to introduce their latest device, the Moto G. On the surface, it looks very much like the Moto X with its edge to edge display and curved back. The specs, while still good, differ a fair amount from Motorola’s flagship device:

- 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 Processor
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB/16GB Internal Storage
- 5MP Camera
- 1.3MP Front Facing Camera
- 2070mAh Battery
- Android 4.3
One of the big difference between the Moto X and the Moto G is the lack of Touchless Controls and Active Notifications on the latter. Due to the different screen type and processor, these features will not work with the Moto G. However, the Moto G comes with a much much lower price tag than the Moto X. In terms of the US pricing, the 8 GB model will cost just $179 and the 16GB model will go for $199. That’s not contract pricing either, that’s outright pricing! Canadian pricing has yet to come but given these prices this phone will be one of the best bang for buck devices of all time. In terms of availability, it is expected to to be available in Canada within a few weeks.
