LG G Flex 2 Is Now Official
The G Flex series has finally received an update at CES 2024, and yes, it’s better than ever.
The new LG G Flex 2 comes with a smaller but 20% stronger 5.5-inch 1080p P-OLED display, 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC with 2 GB of DDR4 RAM, 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage and even microSD expansion of up to 2 TB. The cameras for the phone are identical to last year’s LG G3; 13MP rear camera with OIS+ and 2.1MP for the front.
Due to the phone’s tendancy to curve, the embedded battery is also curved and it packs 3000 mAh. The phone is also running Android 5.0 Lollipop with LG’s custom UI.
Now for the coolest part. The predecessor became really popular due to it’s self-healing technology as it would “heal” itself from scratches in 3 minutes. Now, LG has cut down the healing time on the G Flex 2 to just under 10 seconds. Other new features include:
- Gesture Shot and View, to capture and view photos and selfies with a hand gesture from 1.5 meters away
- Glance View, reveals the time, recent messages or missed calls with a downward swipe while the phone’s display is off.
- Fast Charge, allows the embedded 3,000mAh battery to be charged up to 50 percent in under 40 minutes.
The phone will only be available in South Korea, but seeing as Rogers picked up the original G Flex, we just might see it land on Canadian shores.
