Leaked Conversation Suggests N1 To Dual Boot CM And Oppo UI
If you’ve been following, then you know Cyanogen has gone incorporate and will probably collaborate with Oppo to launch a phone packing CyanogenMod. Now, according to a conversation with Koushik Dutta, we learn the device might either launch with dual boot option, or could be offered in two versions, one with CyanogenMod and other with Oppo UI.
From the conversation we can also tell there’s still some work to be done on CM to make it ready to ship in Oppo’s new smartphone. The CM team is working in CTS compliance, which stands for Compatibility Test Suite for Android. The conversation also states that CTS compliance has to do with the ability to use Google Apps officially on CM, as that would be a crucial part of the partnership with Oppo.
Additionally, it seems no money exchanged hands in this partnership, but both parties will gain something from this deal. CM gets its chance to rise as an incorporate company, while Oppo gets the awesome UI thousands of Android users love.
We’ll learn more this week at the Oppo event in Beijing, so don’t forget to tune in on the 23rd. Check the conversation below and let us know what you think in the comment section.
