Galaxy S IV Scratch Test Video
One of the worst things that can happen to your shiny new phone is that it gets a scratch on it. Worse yet is getting a scratch on your screen! If you got a scratch on the back cover of your phone (assuming it’s removable) you could replace that easily but a scratch on the screen is much more permanent. Screen protectors can definitely help but they often distort the picture or create a less than smooth surface to swipe around on.
I think we all yearn for the day we can throw our phone in our pocket or purse with keys or coins in there and not have to worry about your screen getting dinged up. Well it looks like we may be another step in the right direction with Corning’s latest scratch resistant glass, Gorilla Glass 3. In the video above you’ll see someone throwing a variety of different tools at Samsung’s Galaxy S IV which is of course fitted with the aforementioned Gorilla Glass 3. Looks like it holds up pretty well although I don’t think I would try this on my own phone.
