CyanogenMod Nightlies for the Galaxy S Line
Why it mattered
An editorial survey at the time suggested that about 10% of readers used a Galaxy S device. Those phones were not going to receive Ice Cream Sandwich from the manufacturer, apart from some pieces of the so-called value pack. CyanogenMod nightlies were an effort to give the line a second life.

Know the risks first
A nightly is an automated, unfinished build, so each one can carry bugs. The CyanogenMod wiki and forum listed the known shortcomings of every build, and reading them first was the recommended step. Flashing custom software can void a warranty and can leave a phone unusable if something goes wrong, so back up your data before trying it. This page does not link to any files.
