Asus Padfone 2 Gets Official And Come Packed With High-End Hardware
Asus has officially released the upcoming Asus Padfone II. We already saw some shots of the phone last week but today we got all the juicy details for the phone. Let me start off with the specs:
The Phone:
- 4.7″ 720p IPS LCD (550 nits brightness)
- Quad-Core Qualcomm S4 Processor (same as the Optimus G)
- 2GB RAM
- 13 MP Camera (using Sony’s f/2.4 BSI sensor)
- 1.2 MP Front-Facing Camera
- Android 4.0 (but will be upgraded to 4.1)
- 2140 mAh battery
The Tablet:
- 10.1″ 1280×800 display
- 5000 mAh battery
The device is set to release in Europe and Asia by the end of the year. For us here in North America there’s not official word as to if and when we might see this device. In fact, the current version of the Padfone II is not fitted with the more popular frequencies for North America. But Asus stated that they will be announcing other countries at a later date so we still have hope.
Overall, I’m very impressed with the device. The original Padfone was a unique idea that caught a lot of peoples attention. But the execution was a little bit lacking and the overall package became quite bulky. This time around Asus has created a top notch phone that can compete with the best of them and has created a super slick tablet dock.
