Ever since the official announcement of Android 4.4 KitKat, a common question has been asked again and again by Android enthusiasts: “when will my device get Android 4.4?” Many manufacturers have already stepped forward and offered up a time frame as to when their flagship devices will get the update and one company, Motorola, already has the update rolling out to their flagship device, the Moto X! However, the big gun in the Android world, Samsung, has been pretty quiet about KitKat.
Although Samsung has still been quite quiet about this next big update, a leak, reportedly from Samsung India’s R&D, has provided us with some tasty information regarding that chocolate treat we’re all waiting for. As you can see in the photo above, this years flagship devices, the S4 and Note 3, should be getting Android 4.4 sometime around January 2024. Of course, this time frame will be different for each country but it gives us a good reference point at the very least.
Last years flagships from Samsung, the S3 and Note 2, will also get the update but that update is not expected until March-April of 2024. While it’s definitely a long wait for the update at least it’s coming.
As we hear of more specific dates for Android 4.4 updates we’ll be sure to pass them along to you.
