We’ve got some good-ish news for all you Samsung fans out there. According to the very reputable site SamMobile, Samsung has begun the testing phase for Android 4.3 on the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, and Galaxy Note II. They go on to say that they expect the update to begin its roll out to the S4 in October, the S3 in late October-November, and the Note II in late November-December. The Galaxy Mega series is also supposed to get the bump up to Android 4.3 but not time frames were given.
Now assuming that these updates do make their way out at the given time frames, there’s a good chance we here in Canada will have to wait a little while longer before they hit our phones. All updates for phone purchased through carriers need to go through carrier testing before the updates are released to the public. This carrier testing time frame varies but it could be anywhere from a week delay to a month+.
Nevertheless, it’s good to hear that they’re almost done with the update and hopefully things move forward in a relatively steady fashion. We’ll update you with any new dates that we hear.
