It’s been a while since I’ve actually looked at one of these Android distribution charts but I was especially intrigued this month when I saw how much of the pie Jelly bean had taken. According to the latest numbers, Jelly Bean is now on close to 50% of all active Android devices out there. When you throw that and ICS together, you have nearly 70% of Android devices running the overhauled Android UI (although I’m sure the majority of them are skinned and miss out on the beauty of pure Android).
Adoption of the latest version of Android, which is currently Android 4.3, is still a slow process and once Android 4.4 launches I’m sure many will feel like they’re very much behind the times. Google and its manufacturing partners definitely still have some work to do in regards to speeding up the update process but I feel like things are getting better.
