Smart watches are becoming quite a common sight in tech news as they grow more popular with each passing month, so it is normal to see companies to try out this market and while Sony is the only big company actually releasing a device all the big names in mobile computing seem to be prepping a watch accessory.

The new kid on the block, not coming from any big name in the industry is the HOT Watch, which is attempting to raise $150,000 on Kickstarter to start production and, supposedly, make our lives easier. However, this isn’t your normal Smart watch, and though it resembles the Pebble it comes packed with more very innovative features.

Like Pebble, which was released earlier this year after a successful Kickstarter project, HOT Watch sports a high-contrast e-paper display, but unlike the Pebble you don’t need to rely on buttons to navigate the interface as the e-paper screen is touch-enabled, allowing even gestures above the screen, much like the Galaxy S4.

HOT Watch gives you all the basics a Bluetooth-connected Smart watch must have, like SMS, Facebook and Twitter updates, caller-id, etc. and of course a watch face. The list of features is very big, in fact too big for us to list here, but you can always check it out on the source link. Nonetheless, it’s hard to know if all of these features will make it to the final product.

One interesting feature is that the device supports movements from your hand to do certain tasks. So for ending a call you wave bye-bye and for answering it you just raise your hand to your ear in a cup shape. When you do it, not only will the call be answered, but the sound will bounce from your palm right into your ear. Too sci-fi? Or just enough?

Backers can guarantee early access to a device for a pledge of $109 or more and developers looking to get in on the app developing action may be glad to know that some sort of SDK should be made available. You can check the source link below, for the device’s presentation video as well as more info on the HOT Watch. Don’t forget to leave your comments on the section below.
