If you don’t already know, countless reports and rumours have suggested HTC will manufacture Google’s upcoming two Nexus smartphones with codenames Sailfish and Marlin. While specs for the smaller Sailfish phone were leaked a couple of weeks ago, we finally get to see the specs for Marlin, which is going to be the larger of the two.
According to Android Police, they have received substantial evidence for Marlin and have published an article with the following specs:
- Manufactured by HTC
- Quad-core Qualcomm processor
- 5.5″ QHD (2560×1440) AMOLED display
- USB-C port
- 12MP rear camera, 8MP front
- Rear-mounted fingerprint scanner
- 4GB RAM
- 3450mAh battery
- Bottom-firing speakers
- 32/128GB of storage
- Bluetooth 4.2
All in all, Marlin is looking pretty good so far. It’s too bad the company that made front firing stereo speakers mainstream wasn’t able to bring it back for the Nexus as both phones are expected to feature bottom firing speakers. It is also not clear as to what SoC HTC/Google will go with since the Snapdragon 821 and 823 are rumoured to launch with phones sometime later this year.
