Yahoo! Weather App Updated With Redesigned UI And New Features
The Yahoo! Weather has been around for ages, and it served its purpose very well, giving you a precise forecast and a decent amount of features. However, its design was getting outdated and in need of refreshing.
The nice developers over at Yahoo! felt the same way and decided to give their app a much deserved and quite amazing update. It is now, available globally through the Google Play Store, giving the Yahoo! Weather app a complete design overhaul making it one of the more aesthetically pleasing weather apps out there.
Feature-wise it has all the same great features that you’ve come to expect from a top-notch weather app. It now features a 5/10-day forecast and 24-hour weather predictions as well as additional information from interactive radar, heat, satellite, and wind maps. The app will also report severe weather alerts, and display animated sunrise and sunset times. Finally you’ll also have wind and pressure modules, humidity sensor, UV index and precipitation chance.
When it comes to design, the app now features a clean and minimalistic look. On the background you have a picture with the actual place in the current weather condition and on top of that you have the current temperature, weather prediction as well as maximum and minimum temperatures. Swiping to the sides will change between locations and when you scroll down you get a translucent card interface, similar to Google Now, which gives you all the extra information you need with beautiful, yet clean animations. You can rearrange the cards so you have the ones you need the most on top.
Overall, it is an excellent update, bringing useful new features and a design that makes you want to stare at your weather app more than one would find normal. This update as surely caught my attention, and made me change weather apps, which is something I hadn’t done for a long time. So if you haven’t tried it already you should definitely give it a chance as I guarantee you won’t regret it.
