VLC in Beta form…’ish
It wasn’t that long ago that I told you … well reminded you, that VLC folk had a pre-alpha version of the popular media player.
A long time ago (almost a year now), it sounded like it was 3 months away from being complete. Here we are, still nothing…
…well, not exactly nothing. A fellow on XDA named adridu59 has built himself a copy that’s downloadable to your phone. Note, this is not an official build of any sort!
So, how is it? It’s definitely a work in progress, as my hd recorded videos have huge issues playing. But music works fine (it’s picking up the cached MP3s from Google Music!).
The trick is to ensure compatibility as adridu59 offers you 3 flavours to download (previously only neon/non-neon).
Check your processor to see what kind it is, and it should tell you what type of flavour to download. (the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is a Cortex-A9 for those of you curious).
Go download a copy and take it for a spin… let us know how your mileage varies?
